Dr. Warner delivered a very interesting lecture about the  Geopolitical role of small states. He spoke about transnational issues from 1989 until 2001 such as: climate changes, pandemic, terrorism, health, etc. The most interesting part of the lecture was about Switzerland, portrayed as an example of very successful small state in the international arena. The country is surrounded by three large countries: France, Germany and Italy and has no natural resources. Dr. Warner described three options for small countries to succeed: 1. If the country borders large countries, the small country should declare neutrality; 2. To cooperate with large neighboring state; 3. To form alliances with neighboring states. To this end,  the following questions were raised: what the small state can offer to the world community and to the larger states? How Georgia can be attractive for the neighbors and how to make those interested to protect Georgia and ensure its security? Dr. Warner mentioned that small states like Georgia might develop physical, material, moral position or intellectual, entrepreneurial, philosophical/religious capacities to enjoy  a strong positions and establish authority within the wider region. Dr Warner mentioned that hard work, desire to have a respectable place in the world arena made the Confederation the country we know nowadays. He also mentioned that Georgia should find its niche within its larger neighbors to make them vitally interested to cooperate and work jointly, and thus avoid problems in the future.

As we were informed Mr. Nika Kvashali (Children call him Nika Papa- Papa means grand father in Georgian language) sold all his property in Tbilisi  to buy a house in Gremi, Kakheti, and dedicated the rest of his life to those vulnerable people who are now living in Temi. This is  really very unique community for Georgian reality. A sustainable community of people, including the socially vulnerable people, who have an opportunity to realize themselves  as individuals and as a group, living together safely with dignity and respect for themselves, other human beings and living creatures, and the environment. Some of them who have a possibility  to work physically, together with volunteers, are  involved in different kind of work such as: Temi construction, Organic farming (vineyard digging, weeding, sowing, planting, harvesting), taking care of the cows, chickens and the bees, wood workshop, helping in kitchen, laundry, etc. The Alumni Council Georgia with the financial support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and in collaboration with the Centre for International Governance of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva-Switzerland which sponsored such a meaningful event took this opportunity to visit the above mentioned Temi Community. Temi encourages learning for all residents and tries to incorporate education into all facets of daily life. This often takes the form of learning practical skills, such as cooking, agriculture and carpentry. However, teaching  the basic school curriculum is also available , as well as music, arts and  foreign languages teaching. Disabled children enjoy  special care, which is financed by the Georgian Government.  In particular, babysitters,  take special care of them. Alumni were invited for stand up meal, were they tasted Temi produced red wine, hot bread, which was cooked especially for gests and also very delicious Georgian cheese.
